Irizar e-mobility is signing the largest European contract for the supply of 18 m, BRT system, zero emissions articulated buses with Amiens Metropole
Amiens Métropole has entrusted Irizar with the installation of its BRT system, on three of its lines.
The contract with Amiens Metropole, a city in Northern France, includes the manufacture of 43 units of the 18 metre articulated bus, Irizar ie tram model
These buses will be manufactured by the company during the next year in the new Aduna plant that has been operating at full capacity since last year. The new order takes the existing portfolio to 69 units of such model.
The Irizar ie tram model is a 100% electric, zero emissions, articulated vehicle. This project covers the installation, at the start and end of each of the planned lines, of opportunity charging stations by pantograph and other smart charging stations in garages. Irizar will also provide the necessary infrastructure for their correct operation.
Developed based on the idea that design contributes to citizen comfort and a more attractive service and city, this bus, with the aesthetic features of a tram, combines major capacity (155 seats), ease of access and interior spatial organization with the flexibility of an urban bus that, with its zero emissions, define its special DNA.
The Irizar ie tram offers a design that starts from a minimalist aesthetic language, without ornaments, with all of its features responding to specific functional aspects allowing it to create an identity and an image that are easily recognisable to its users. One of the most significant features of its design is the chrome edging that flows around the body of the vehicle.
The new Irizar ie tram is the product of the Irizar Group's technology, both in electronics and communications and also in its main systems: power train, batteries and charging alternatives. It is a technology that has been tested in Irizar's laboratories and on its test benches and in the vehicle itself.
