Avoiding problems on the road is a requirement for all our vehicles, and active and passive safety are strategic aspects of our new product and service developments.
Our vehicles comply with the most demanding European safety standards. The Irizar i2e bus (10.8 m and 12m) is the first electric city bus on the market that complies with Standard R/66.01 for rollover protection.
The rigid and robust structure of our vehicles is designed to withstand side-on and head-on collisions as well as to prevent lateral rollover. All our buses are equipped with the most stringent active safety mechanisms on the market.
And we offer different horn options and machine vision systems for detecting pedestrians.
The driver is our focus
The driving position has been designed prioritizing concepts of ergonomics, comfort, functionality, safety, and service while complying with the new EBSF standards, (European Bus System of the Future - European project managed by UITP ) and VDV.
We have taken into account access to controls, acoustic and micro-climatic considerations to facilitate driving and reduce driver fatigue. The passenger compartment is equipped with a Zero Emissions climate control unit, with cooling (3.5 kW) and heating (13 kW) functions.
The guarantee of safety is another priority, providing it with a clear view of the surroundings thanks to an optimized cab design, with comfortable and ergonomic access and a modular distribution (cabin door with safety window or cockpit).
For the design of the seats, the different driver body shapes have been taken into account. We also offer a wide range of customisation options including pioneering technologies such as EcoAssist, a system that assists the driver in real time with the aim of reducing the vehicle's energy consumption while increasing its operating range.
