La Veloz is renewing their fleet with two new 100% electric buses from Irizar e-mobility

La Veloz, a company belonging to the Samar Group, will incorporate two new electric buses manufactured by Irizar e-mobility to their urban fleet. The model they chose is the 12-metre-long Irizar ie bus. Delivery of the units is scheduled for the end of this month. And they will provide service for the Rivas Vaciamadrid urban lines, which are managed by the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid.

“After years of having a close relationship with the Samar Group in terms of buying Irizar buses, the time has come to take the leap to electric mobility. We’re extremely proud to keep being a key technological partner of the Samar Group”, said Iñigo Azcona, Commercial Director of Irizar e-mobility for Spain and Portugal.

The Irizar ie bus stands out because of its silent operation, safety and comfort. Equipped with latest generation Irizar batteries, the bus has three doors, 30 seats (4 are reserved for people with reduced mobility - PRM), and it has spaces specifically designed for wheelchairs, which makes it accessible and guarantees smooth circulation inside. In addition, there are charging points on both sides of the vehicle, located over the first axle, and it is compatible with the Combo 2 garage charging system.

Acquiring these electric buses is part of the Samar Group’s firm commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. The company has set out to improve the air quality in the cities where they operate and move towards a completely electric fleet in the next few years. That will contribute to reducing their carbon footprint and promoting cleaner mobility.

David Gutiérrez, a Samar Group representative, remarked, “We’re delighted to continue our commitment to innovation and respect for the environment, in line with the values of Irizar e-mobility. These new electric buses mark a before and after in our urban transport services, not just in terms of sustainability but also in comfort and safety”.
