New order for 100% electric Irizar e-mobility buses for Switzerland
Aduna, 20 June 2025
Transports Vallée de Joux, Yverdon and Ste-Croix, to supply new 100% electric buses for the city of Yverdon-les-Bains. The new order comes under a framework contract in force until 2029 that also includes neighbouring operators Transports Publics du Chablais (TPC) and Transports de Martigny et Régions (TMR).
The delivery of the new buses is expected to take place early next year. The buses will operate on the urban lines of the Yverdon agglomeration.
The model chosen was the 12-metre long Irizar ie bus. The vehicles will be equipped with Irizar Generation 3 batteries with more than 500 kWh of power, and they will be charged using pantograph opportunity charging. They will have 3 doors, 1 ramp, 34 seats (4 of which are PRM seats), spaces for wheelchairs, rearview mirrors with digital cameras, and latest generation safety systems.
For Irizar e-mobility, Switzerland is currently the third country to which it has supplied the most electric buses. Since 2019, cities like Schaffhausen, Berne, and Geneva have relied on their electromobility solutions, to promote a more sustainable and efficient future for their cities.
It should be noted that Irizar e-mobility provides technical assistance, spare parts, and logistics services through their Swiss collaborator Visa Saxon. Visa Saxon also provides important commercial support for this market by facilitating the expansion and consolidation of the product.
