Irizar at FIAA
At the FIAA international fair the Irizar Group is presenting the new Irizar i3 class II electric vehicle and their new generation of even more efficient integral vehicles.
At FIAA, the Irizar Group is showing their high capacity for innovation and technology by presenting their new line of efficient and sustainable vehicles, as well as a plethora of new technologies that will be key to the future of mobility and decarbonisation.
At stand 10C11 in Hall P10, Irizar and Irizar e-mobility are showing four latest generation Irizar vehicles: The new class II electric Irizar i3, a new generation Irizar i6S Efficient unit, an i6S Efficient Hydrogen unit, and an Irizar ie tram urban electric vehicle.
All the vehicles being exhibited have significant innovations in terms of technology, design, sustainability and lower consumption. We are presenting the new class II electric low entry Irizar i3 with a totally renewed design, in addition to a range of vehicles with a new generation of lighter, more comfortable integral Irizar chassis with up to 50% lower consumption. The vehicles also have the most stringent safety and cybersecurity systems on the market, an improved cockpit with a redesigned dashboard, weight reductions and improvements in consumption and emissions. And, after presenting it at Busworld 2023, we are showing the hydrogen powered Irizar i6S Efficient for the first time in Spain.
At Irizar we want to be a key actor in the sustainable mobility of the future. To achieve that, we’re focusing all our efforts on decarbonisation, electrifying cities and reducing the consumption and emissions of our vehicles. We’re sure that the future will be multi-technological, and we’re ready for it.
New Irizar i3, 100% electric and silent
Irizar is presenting the new class II electric Irizar i3 Integral for the first time. Irizar’s electromobility range has reached the intercity sector with a completely new design for a silent zero-emissions vehicle that expands the Efficient range.
The new electric Irizar i3 has a completely cutting-edge design. With a more aggressive front and sharper lines, it is in line with the rest of the range of Irizar vehicles. It is a low-entry vehicle completely designed for the sustainable future of the intercity environment: silent and zero-emissions. In addition, all the structural materials have been analysed in this new design. Thanks to the use of lighter and stronger components, it has been possible to reduce its weight by 1000 kg. Its range is outstanding. It provides more than 400 km on a single charge per day, which facilitates operations for all clients. In addition, the number of passengers is maximised while keeping the same features as the entire range of Irizar vehicles.
The dashboard has been redesigned, and its features have been improved and driver comfort has been maximised.
The vehicle meets the highest standards of safety in the framework of the new GSR2 regulations by including advanced components, like cameras and radar, to ensure driver and passenger safety. We comply with the R155 and R156 European regulations for cybersecurity management systems and vehicle software updates. We can thus guarantee that the systems work as expected, and we can mitigate the security risks that arise.
Furthermore, the electronic architecture of the vehicle makes it possible to do data analysis for detecting incidents and implementing preventive maintenance measures.
The bodywork of the new electric Irizar i3 is available in an integral self-supporting configuration and with different electric chassis. The Irizar i3 model is also still available with a diesel, biodiesel, HVO, hybrid or gas engine.

The new Efficient generation: even more efficient Integral Irizar vehicles
The new range of integral Efficient vehicles surpasses all the limits of efficiency achieved in recent years, and it has an additional reduction of consumption of up to 5%.
The new generation also meets all the GSR2 and cybersecurity (R155 and R156) standards. It is an improved line of vehicles that focuses on efficiency and has a new cockpit with a new steering wheel, updated keys and a new version of the dashboard with an updated design and the option to night mode for driving. At the same time, the new HMI for the Irizar i8 and Irizar i6S models come with a renewed design and a more ergonomic and adapted integration of driver needs.
In addition, the digital camera system available for this range provides better visibility in any weather conditions.

Irizar i6S Efficient Hydrogen
After its presentation last year at Busworld, FIAA has become the stage for presenting the hydrogen vehicle at a national level. It’s a pioneering project and a show of Irizar’s firm commitment to offering a complete range of zero-emissions vehicles for both long and short range. And it’s also a milestone along our path of decarbonising the complete range of vehicles.
The first Irizar i6S Efficient Hydrogen has already been certified under the most demanding European standards. It has a range of up to 1000 km and optimised charging times around 20 minutes. Consequently, the way our clients operate will not be changed, and they can continue their existing routes and schedules. In addition, it can run in 100% electric mode for short times, if required.
It is currently in an advanced phase of testing of different typology, and the vehicle is showing high performance in terms of reliability and range. The accumulation of experience with and knowledge of this technology will be key to shaping the future hydrogen range, which is already in the development phase and will be available on the market in 2026.
The future range of hydrogen vehicles that currently includes the Irizar i6S and Irizar i4 models will have substantial improvements over the first version, among which we can highlight the larger baggage compartment and passenger capacity, a longer range and lower weight.

100% electric zero-emissions Irizar ie tram
Another vehicle displayed at the stand is the 12-metre-long Irizar ie tram, the Irizar e-mobility flagship vehicle.
The innovative and modern design of the vehicle has captivated numerous cities around the world, and it can be seen on the streets of Madrid and Barcelona (Spain), London (England), Geneva (Switzerland), Mérida (Mexico), Bayonne (France) and Schaffhausen (Switzerland), among others.
The vehicle was also awarded with the “Muévete Verde” prize last September by the city of Madrid and the Municipal Transport Company of Madrid in the “Decarbonising Transportation” category. Its innovative design has made possible the success of the first Bus Rapid line in Madrid, which was implemented by the city government and the EMT.
The combination of the high capacity, ease of access and movement inside of a tram with being zero-emissions define the DNA of the Irizar ie tram. Its inspiring cutting edge design breaks the mould of traditional transport and is called on to enhance the charm of the city and reflect the cultural diversity of cities.
Since the beginning of this year, Irizar e-mobility has been delivering their new generation of electric buses to their clients. The new generation has improvements in safety and security and follows the new GSR2 ADAS regulations that also include vehicle cybersecurity. It also has a renewed generation of batteries with lower consumption and a longer range that improves the energy available at BOL and EOL by 30%. The new drive system, with a lighter and more compact design, reduces weight up to 26% and also includes a new digital HMI that allows maximum personalisation.
Irizar e-mobility is keeping their product internationalisation strategy, and they continue to innovate and stay committed to technology and sustainability to keep making progress on the path of electromobility.

Improvements in passenger comfort with new seat options
With the goal of maximising passenger comfort, Irizar has developed adjustable headrests for the seats in the Irizar i8 and Irizar i6 plus. Passengers will have an improved travel experience with this new option.
Furthermore, the Irizar i6 seat has the option to include an all-aged three point seat belt for more safety and comfort for travellers of all ages and heights.
We’re sustainable, we’re circular
Sustainability, as a fundamental pillar of our strategy for the future, drives us and commits the entire Group to contribute to the construction of a better and more sustainable world. But Irizar’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond the sphere of mobility.
To show our firm commitment, the FIAA stand will also have an exclusive space for sustainability where our commitment to decarbonisation can be seen, in addition to the complete range of Izir products (our circular economy brand) made up of products created using surplus materials from our production.
For the first time, we’re presenting a range of products that have gained a second life through recycling our waste material. They’re products, including backpacks, wallets, laptop cases and a lot more, made by hand in collaboration with various brands and associations within this project, which focuses on inclusive and responsible production.
