Irizar present at FIAA

The Irizar Group presents the new 15-metre version of the 100% electric Class II Irizar i3 Normal Floor at the FIAA International Bus and Coach Trade Fair at Ifema, Madrid, as well as the Irizar ie tram Efficient, two of the key new additions to its sustainable mobility range.
At FIAA, the Irizar Group is showing their high capacity for innovation and technology by presenting their new line of efficient and sustainable vehicles, as well as a plethora of new technologies that will be key to the future of mobility and decarbonisation
At stand number 9C06 in Hall 9, Irizar and Irizar e-mobility are showcasing four cutting-edge Irizar vehicles: the new 15-metre electric Class II Irizar i3 version, the new Irizar ie tram Efficient, an Irizar i6S Efficient unit, and an Irizar i8.
New 15-metre Irizar i3 Normal Floor version, 100% electric and silent
Irizar premieres the new 15-metre version of the integral electric Class II Irizar i3 model. Maintaining the cutting-edge styling of the new Irizar i3 range, this new version maximises passenger capacity and luggage space while delivering the same performance as the entire Irizar vehicle line.
With a range exceeding 500 km, this new platform also arrives in a fully lightened version reinforced with high-performance steel profiles.
The vehicle meets the highest standards of safety in the framework of the new GSR2 regulations by including advanced components, like cameras and radar, to ensure driver and passenger safety. We comply with the R155 and R156 European regulations for cybersecurity management systems and vehicle software updates. It also features an R29 frontal crash energy-absorption structure designed to ensure driver and passenger safety.
The bodywork of the new electric Irizar i3 is available in an integral self-supporting configuration and with different electric chassis.

100% electric zero-emissions Irizar ie tram Efficient
The new Irizar ie tram is joining the Efficient line, following in the footsteps of the Irizar ie bus Efficient, and it is a step forward in the evolution of a vehicle that has already set a trend in numerous cities.
It is a completely new and renewed vehicle developed using the know-how accumulated since 2011 and backed by more than 200 million kilometres on the road in 55 European cities that is even more efficient, reliable, safe, accessible and adapted to the real needs of current urban settings.
As part of the Efficient platform, the new Irizar ie tram incorporates all the innovations and improvements implemented in the Irizar ie bus Efficient in terms of reducing energy consumption by up to 10%, a weight reduction of nearly 1000 kg, a new and more efficient climate control system, a Engine, latest-generation batteries and the use of 50% more recycled materials. And all of that while meeting the most demanding standards in the market and guaranteeing the highest safety standards. These enhancements drive simultaneous progress in emissions reduction, efficient resource utilisation, and operational competitiveness for our customers.
Ergonomics
Among the main technological advances the complete redesign of the front, that improves visibility and provides a panoramic view, can be highlighted. In addition, the driver’s area has been designed following the German VDV reference standard.
Reliability, availability & durability
This new vehicle has a new generation chassis designed to optimise reliability. In parallel, exhaustive work has been done to strengthen the reliability and durability of the vehicle, with one clear goal, which is to create a solution that can operate without complications. That focus is translated into optimum availability under real service conditions.
Accessibility & comfort
Accessibility has been one of the key elements of the vehicle’s development. All the doors are now wider, making access faster and more comfortable for everyone. Furthermore, this new vehicle is more agile thanks to the height reduction, which makes it possible to access historic and urban areas with height limitations without restrictions. It also has a 5% higher capacity for passengers, a more luminous interior and better comfort while travelling.
Connectivity & Digitalisation
The new Irizar ie tram incorporates a data model designed in accordance with the most recent standards and regulations, which are structured and aligned with real operational needs. It incorporates all the requirements for day-to-day operation in a coherent way that makes a plug & play implementation possible that can be integrated into existing operation systems.

Service designed for you
For the first time, the Irizar stand features a dedicated Irizar Service area where visitors are attended by the after-sales and spare parts team.
Our commitment to our customers drives us to continually strengthen and improve our after-sales service. To that end, we have expanded our after-sales team, increasing our capacity to provide closer, more agile, and efficient support to meet the needs of all our clients.
In parallel, we are developing new capabilities for our diagnostics tool to deliver an increasingly comprehensive service. These developments will enable:
- Diagnosing and servicing a wider range of systems across our integral vehicles, expanding intervention capabilities and streamlining maintenance and repair tasks.
- Servicing the i3 BEV by incorporating the capabilities required to assist and support our customers across our electric vehicle range.
We’re sustainable, we’re circular
Reflecting our firm commitment to sustainability, the FIAA stand once again features an area dedicated exclusively to sustainability, showcasing our commitment to decarbonization as well as the full product line of Izir, our circular economy brand made from surplus manufacturing materials.
The circular economy is one of the core pillars of Irizar’s environmental management. As a result, we currently valorise 63.50% of our surplus and waste materials, facilitating their reintegration into new production cycles. Furthermore, our vehicles achieve an average recoverability and recyclability rate of 97.44% and 92.95%, respectively.
Sustainability is also integral to the vehicle design process. Guided by eco-design criteria, we work to optimize raw material usage, extend component durability, facilitate end-of-life recovery, and minimise environmental impacts associated with the product.
Additionally, vehicle development incorporates a structured Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach in compliance with international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, assessing every stage from raw material extraction and manufacturing through to operation and end-of-life.
In this context, we have progressed in adopting tools such as Life Cycle Assessments and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), prepared pursuant to ISO 14025, providing a transparent, verifiable way to measure and report the environmental footprint of our products.
Over the past year we obtained EPDs for the electric Irizar i3, the lightweight CNG Irizar i4, the 12- and 18-metre Irizar ie bus Efficient, and the 18-metre Irizar ie tram. These certifications join those already awarded to the Irizar i6 FCEV, the 12-metre Irizar ie bus Efficient in 2025, and the Irizar i6S Efficient and lightweight Irizar i4 in 2024. These certifications reinforce our commitment to environmental transparency, giving customers and operators objective, verifiable, and comparable data on the environmental performance of our vehicles throughout their entire lifecycle.
