Irizar will manufacture 10 electric 0 emissions buses for the city of Düsseldorf in Germany

Irizar has just signed the supply contract for 10 Irizar ie bus 12 metre long zero emissions electric buses with the Rheinbahn operator in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was one of the biggest tenders for electric buses in Germany in the last 12 months.
The Irizar ie bus under the contract is a new generation of this model that's been operating in several cities since 2014 and will be presented to the market at the end of this year. It includes the latest innovations in technology and design among which are a 10% weight reduction and an improvement in passenger capacity for the regulations in several countries, etc.
The vehicle is completely silent and makes no polluting emissions and includes technology from the Irizar Group for the electronics, energy storage and communications.
It has 2 doors, 34 seats, 1 driver's seat, 3 wheelchair areas and a total passenger capacity of 74. These vehicles have a range of 200-220 km. They will be charged at night using inter-operable chargers with Combo 2-CCS charging outlets with 300 kWh of loaded energy.
The first units will be delivered late this year and during the first quarter of 2020.
Rheinbahn is a public transport operator from Düsseldorf. It has more than 737 vehicles in its fleet, including buses and trams, and moves 760,000 passengers every day.
